Starting next year, junior college and pre-university students with an interest and passion in mathematics and engineering can apply for engineering and technology scholarships. The scholarship will benefit 200 students each year.
The Ministry of Education’s (MOE) newly launched Engineering and Technology Scholarship will support students’ tuition fees in the junior colleges and pre-university institutions, with an annual cap of $2,400 and a yearly allowance of $1,000 for two years.
The scholarship aims to strengthen science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and encourage more people to join the STEM industry.
MOE pointed out that the scholarships will support Singapore citizens who have a strong foundation in mathematics and are interested in applied and interdisciplinary learning.
