SUTD Multi-Rotor Society (MRS) took part in the Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition (SAFMC) 2017. MRS deals with an exciting slew of drone technologies that enhance not only military capabilities but also benefit commercial sectors that require scaling heights to achieve certain functions.
In SAFMC 2017, Team La Casier, Champion of the Open Category, built the top-winning drones whereby the surrogate can repeatedly exit and enter the mothership for reconnaissance missions. With innovative and precision engineering, the surrogate is also fully waterproof to brave critical underwater military operations. Team La Casier comprised EPD students Ang Wei Jun, Goh Tze Huan, Khaw Jien Yi, Lee Jiong Le and Tan Yu Da.
Other teams which won in SAFMC 2017 include Team Triton who received 3rd in the Open Category (Barry Tee Wei Cong, Sherman Lee, Adam Hazi Bin Mohd Arshad, Lee Chang Hsien), Team Klee which received 3rd in the Semi-Autonomous Category (Goh Tze Huan, Zhao Guanlun, Zhen Yi, Muhd Adib Farrasy) and Team Locker (Ang Wei Jun, Khaw Jien Yu, Lee Jiong Le, Tan Yu Da, Pheh Ying Hong). Congratulations to all the EPD students!
